Support Mental Health Awareness
A sound mind is just as important as a sound body. While physical health in terms of diet and exercise is a regularly-discussed thing, mental illness continues to be a taboo subject that people rarely discuss with each other. It's considered awkward to discuss getting help with a friend or family member, or uncomfortable to talk openly about psychiatric struggles. But you'd be very surprised to learn how many people - friends, lovers, family members, co-workers - suffer from various sorts of mental illnesses, and the range of effects it can have on one's life. Raise awareness and do what you can: take the pledge here.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE
@theRoyalOntarioMuseum
Now here's something you don't see everyday: the ROM kicks off their $9, 19+ Friday Night Live this Friday, April 20th til June 22nd. Only $8 for students, FNL@ROM includes an Earth Weekend celebration, movies curated by Hot Docs film festival, a Harricana Fashion trunk show, a feature photography exhibit in partnership with Scotiabank's CONTACT Photography Festival, and even a chance to grab a drink in the Rec Room Photo Lounge and step in front of the camera to create your own works of art! A cocktails and cabaret event takes place on May 18th, live local music on May 25th, a hockey-themed, Canada-centered performance on June 1st, and (what?!) on June 8th there will be a Yoga Rave - yes, I just said that - in the Rom Rec Room: Lululemon yoga with a trance-spinning DJ. Party with the dinosaurs here!
