Music buzz in Toronto and elsewhere....
Just a couple of songs to move to... actually, albums, because both of these bands churn out worthy tune after worthy tune.
First, Fritz Helder. Formerly Fritz Helder & the Phantoms, Fritz is now a solo artist signed with Nelly Furtado's label (he was one of her back-up dancers before launching his own career) and managed by Sons of Cicero. Currently touring Europe, Fritz Helder is still blowing things up, as he did when he debuted in Toronto. If you get a chance to check him out when he gets back, do so. Electro-pop with more than a dose of fashion and incredible live performances - energy A+.
Lagerfeld Lady - Fritz Helder & the Phantoms
Making a Scene - Fritz Helder & the Phantoms
Pet Shop Boys - Pandemonium (Stars & Sun dub)
Pet Shop Boys - The Way It Used to Be
Pet Shop Boys - More Than a Dream (Love etc)
Next we've got The Pet Shop Boys, an English electro-dance duo consisting of Neil Tennant [vocals, keyboards] and Chris Lowe [keyboards]. These two make up the most successful duo in UK music history. Their latest studio album, Yes, was released in March 2009 and is a concoction of beautiful music. Though quite a few djs have mixed their tracks since then - some that I'll include here - we hope to hear more from the Pet Shop Boys soon.
