Music New and Vintage

You are not a real fan of music unless you can enjoy all kinds..

I've never really understood why as soon as something is old it loses its value. A great song is a great song regardless of when it was released - if you haven't heard it before, it's not old to you is it?

So without further ado, please meet The Blow. The Blow consists of Khaela Marichich [vocals] and Jona Bechtolt [only a member from 2004-2007], and is based out of Portland, Oregon. Khaela is also a visual artist and has shown her work at The Kitchen and The Warhol Museum, among others. The Blow has a very interesting sound, total throwback to 80s new wave...Check em out:

The Blow - What Tom Said About Girls
The Blow - Hey Boy
(This one reminds me very much of The XX)
The Blow - Pardon Me

Next up is The Knocks. The Knocks consist of Ben "B-Roc" Ruttner and James "JPatt" Patterson, and originated in New York. They get their name from all the neighbors who used to knock on the door and tell them to turn down the music (hate that). They're getting bigger and I guarantee we'll see more of them soon - especially because they've been working with artists like B.o.B., Big Boi, and our boy Calvin Harris. Listen up:

The Knocks - Make It Better
The Knocks - Blackout
The Knocks - Can't Shake Your Love

And finally, the lovely Primal Scream, a Scottish band formed in Glasgow in the 80s. Known as a key part of the mid 1980s indie-pop scene, Primal Scream has sold over 10 million albums and I can see why. Psychadelic and pill-popping, moody feel to it. Frontman Bobby Gillespie is a good friend of Kate Moss and features her on tracks like Some Velvet Morning and Diamond Blues:

Primal Scream ft. Kate Moss - Some Velvet Morning
Primal Scream - Kill All Hippies
Primal Scream - Can't Go Back
